I bet you have question yourself many times “what to eat before workout?” Well, your body needs energy before hard training, therefore, be well prepared. The meal you eat before training, affects your strength to workout. That means that you should choose carefully what you eat the last hour before going to the gym. You sure need carbohydrates, for your energy. We are not talking about the meal before your workout, we are talking about snacks. So let’s see!
Nuts
We are talking, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts. The nuts will give you your needed energy for the training. You can combine them with honey, for extra effect, and spiced taste.
Dried Fruit
The natural sugar in these foods will turn into energy for your body during the entire exercise. If you need something stronger, then pour some yogurt. The yogurt will be an additional source of protein.
Bananas
Bananas are high in carbohydrates. Because of that, many people think that bananas are not a good idea, but when you workout, this is a perfect source of energy. So don’t worry, because bananas are one thing that you should eat, before workout.
Honey or Peanutbutter
Honey is a perfect source of natural sugar, that will give you the needed energy for sure. Also, you can eat penutbutter before your workout, if you like it better, in a combination with fruit slices.
Energy Granola Bars
These are also perfect for your pre-workout snack. You can buy them, or you can make them yourself. So, here are some ideas for Yummy No Bake Energy Bars Recipe.
I find that it’s much much easier on my stomach if I eat things like light fruits, and not too acidic, like banana. If I eat nuts and stuff like that I get a bit stomach achy since I have digestion issues. But this is a reminder that I really need to fuel properly before exercising! :)
Well, I had digestion issues too. You can eat bananas too, but in combination with milk, like a shake or something. Yogurt will do nothing but good for your digestions, and the dried fruit too. Also, a tip, combine the nuts with honey – it taste great, it will give you energy, and it is Digesty-friendly :)
Thank you for giving us some great suggestions. I really like your blog. May I give you a little feedback? The correct spelling is peAnut butter. Keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot :)
