Some girls have a very tough period, while others have a light one. Sometimes, the pain lasts 2-3 days, and sometimes there’s no pain at all. I was asking myself is it a smart decision to work out during the period? So, I found some interesting facts, that I had to share with all of you girls. I usually have a very, very painful menstruation, but I try to complete my workout routine for the day anyway. I had to do a post about workout and period, and at last here it is. So let’s get started and find out is it good or bad to exercise on our periods.

First of all, it is not a smart idea to exercise on your period, if you have a lot of pain. Some people have not only stomach pain, but back pain and headaches too. So in this case, working out during the period may make the pain even worse. If you have pain, you shouldn’t work out at least the first day of it. Take a rest day and continue the next day.

If your pain is not that bad, you can workout, but remember to take it easy. When you feel bloated and irritable during your period, it can be difficult to muster enough energy to exercise. So start slowly, without any pressure. Even better idea is to do a series of yoga. These activities are designed to stretch the abdominal muscles and can put a curb on your cramps.

So, if you don’t have a lot of pain during your period, you should work out. I do. Do I feel like it? NO. Do I do it? YES! Do I feel better after? YES!! A lot better. The workout can not harm you, it can just make you feel better. Don’t be afraid to lift some weights because when you’re on your period, all you really feel like doing is lying on the couch with a blanket and a good movie. But what your body needs may be the exact opposite. Women who exercise regularly during their periods may be less troubled by cramps and PMS. If you have mild cramps or moodiness, working up a sweat can improve your state of body and mind.
