Every one of us has their own secrets.

Ones that they can never say out loud, because they’re too afraid to hear the truth.

I have my secret too, that I thought I would overcome as the time goes by…

This secret has been with me all the way through my fitness journey, and it’s definitely the one that bothers me the most.

I work out and live healthy for over 5 years now, and yet this one thing can’t seem to go away.

I’ve never talked about this, and honestly, I strongly believed that I’d never share this with you, but here am I opening up for the first time.

I was inspired by one persons story, a stunningly brave fitness coach, Vanessa Bennington, that just opened my eyes, and encouraged me to finally say my secret out loud:

I HAVE CELLULITE!Can We Get Rid Of Cellulite The ACTUAL TRUTH, And My Formula to Eliminate Cellulite - fit cellulite

Yes, I do have it, especially on my butt and thighs.

I work out and live healthy for more than 5 years now:

  • I’ve kicked all the bad habits
  • Cleaned my diet
  • I exercise 6 days a week – no excuses
  • I have a sculpted body and big muscles
  • I am healthy and strong
  • My health has never been better
  • I coach and advise people all over the world
  • I inspire them to get fit and change their lives…

…And yet, I still can’t get rid of cellulite.

I always felt that if anyone found out my secret they would think I was not the person they believed me to be.
I felt that my secret would lead them to believe I was fat, lazy, unfit, gross, and unattractive, or unlovable.” – Vanessa

And that’s exactly how I feel!

I have cellulite all my life, and it pops out every time I sit or accidentally squeeze my leg muscles.

I honestly obsessed myself with this problem of mine and I literally tried everything I could, but still no results.

Some people will say:

“Your cellulite is okay, I’ve seen worse”

But they can’t expect me to be okay with it, when I’ve killed myself through the years to get fit, and it’s so frustrating that I cannot be one of those girls, when I actually do everything right.

It’s painful to hear “there are worse than you” when you’re actually killing yourself to reach for the best.

I felt like I was still unworthy of the title of “fit.”
I was not good enough for a fitness magazine.
I wasn’t fit enough to wear shorts or a bathing suit.
I was unacceptable.” – Vanessa

These are just few of the reasons why I decided to make an article about cellulite, and try to help every one of you out there that deals with the same problem.

And believe me, girl, you’re not alone!

In fact, we all deal with it, since 85%-90% of the women can’t get rid of cellulite.

That’s why I decided to make a study and share it with you through my own story, by answering all of your questions about this enemy of ours…

– Why do we have cellulite?

– What cellulite really is, and what are the best ways to get rid of cellulite?

– What does it really take to have the body of a fitness model?

– Can we eliminate cellulite once and for all?

Step by step, I’ll walk you through my journey of understanding and fighting it.

Let’s get started right away!

Know Your Enemy – What is cellulite? Can We Get Rid Of Cellulite The ACTUAL TRUTH, And My Formula to Eliminate Cellulite

The first step to fighting an issue is knowing your enemy.

If you don’t know who is your enemy and why it attacks you, how are you supposed to get rid of it, right?

So first of all, we need to determine what cellulite is NOT!

There are some myths going around, so I want to make sure that we all check them FALSE!

  • Cellulite only happens to out of shape people
  • Cellulite is caused by eating fatty food
  • There are certain exercises for cellulite reduction
  • Cellulite is just excess fat
  • Losing weight will make cellulite disappear

These are just false myths that many people believe in, because of the misleading tips most of the blogs all over the internet provide.

Cellulite happens to skinny and fit people too, and it’s not always a sign of excess fat.

When we put it this way, one question pop ups:

What is cellulite, and what are the real reasons it pops out on our body?

The outermost layer of the skin is called the epidermis and directly below it is the dermis.

Under this is the first of two subcutaneous fat layers.

When this first layer of fat protrudes into the dermis, it causes the dimpling appearance we refer to as cellulite.

Women who have cellulite tend to have connective tissue that is arranged differently.

The connective tissue forms chamber-like structures that cause or encourage fat to bulge upward and outward into the dermis.

Areas like women’s thighs and buttocks are especially prone to cellulite because that’s where we tend to store body fat.

So this means that cellulite really has everything to do with the structure of our skin.

  • Genetics and skin type
  • Poor circulation
  • Lack of hydration
  • Inactivity
  • Bad diet
  • Hormonal changes

These are only few of the reasons why we get cellulite.

  • It Doesn’t Necessarily Mean You’re Overweight

That’s why even thin, lean athletic women – tend to have lots of cellulite and their male counterparts do not.

That’s because cellulite can be caused by a myriad of issues that have nothing to do with your weight.

Actually having cellulite is not synonymous with being overweight, and it’s probably genetic.

This one explains the fact that I am a fit girl and an athlete, but still, I have it all over my thighs.

Actually, cellulite has everything to do with genetics!

Some women are more prone to getting cellulite than others, and this is because cellulite has its roots in skin structure as I explained, and that often has everything to do with genetics.

As I said, around 85% to 90% of the women have cellulite, so the chances you inherit cellulite are really high.

  • Cellulite can also appear because of dehydration.

Dehydration can lead to the inability of the body to get rid of the fat deposits.

That’s why, in addition to diet, it is very important to drink plenty of water.

Drinking water helps avoid bloating and fluid retention that can make cellulite appear even worse.

So, yes, cellulite can be caused by plenty of reasons, but what is the best way to fight it?

How do we treat cellulite?

1. Do The Right Exercise

If you’re not exercising yet, make sure to start right away.

Why?

Because strength training helps you get rid of the body fat faster, while building stronger muscles and providing better chances of eliminating cellulite.

Weight training is the only form of exercise capable of strengthening muscle and tightening the connective tissues of the body and the only effective “cellulite exercises”.
A lower body resistance-training program that focuses on muscle growth is essential here!”
– Jade Teta, fitness and fat loss expert

The fact is that strength training works perfectly for getting rid of cellulite, but only if you do it right.

You’ll have to work your body as a whole piece, not just focusing on certain spots.

That means that you’ll have to do a full body strength training on daily basis, and occasional cardio workout.

Actually, a combination of cardio and strength training has been known to help reduce the appearance of cellulite the most, because regular strength physical activity will strengthen the connective fibers in your whole body, which will reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Not to mention the benefits you’ll have from doing strength training in all:Can We Get Rid Of Cellulite The ACTUAL TRUTH, And My Formula to Eliminate Cellulite - cellulite workout

  • get a curvy body
  • pop up your muscles, tone up your body and look fit
  • burn lots of calories (even when you’re not working out)
  • look strong – instead of skinny and baggy
  • improve your health
  • release the stress
  • improve your self-esteem
  • improve your mood
  • build up your confidence
  • feel happier and stronger
  • get healthier heart and bones

Strength training is the first step you should do if you want to look good, feel good, be healthy as hell, and get rid of cellulite, so make sure you include it in your lifestyle.

Here’s my own solution with the best workout plan that changed my life, The Breaking Fat Workout Program.

2. Eat The Right Foods

The foods you eat are probably the most important factor when it comes to living healthy.

You have to be sure you eat clean, so that your body and skin cleans out the fat naturally.

The ideal diet should be a high protein and high fiber diet and includes:

  • fresh veggies
  • healthy fats – nuts and seeds
  • lean proteins – fish, seafood and meat
  • high fibers – beans and peas
  • dairy products

Don’t be afraid of the fats you intake, it’s the sugars and the bad carbs that you should be afraid of!Can We Get Rid Of Cellulite The ACTUAL TRUTH, And My Formula to Eliminate Cellulite - anti cellulite food

And not only cellulite, but sugar is the main reason why many health conditions happen in the first place.

Starting with obesity, heart disease and diabetes, the excess sugar in your diet is slowly killing you.

Make sure to kiss goodbye to every form of sugar – white, brown, fructose and glucose, and most important of all, kiss goodbye to the products that contain sugar:

  • sodas, drink powders and soft drinks
  • breads and grains
  • dried and canned fruits
  • cereals and instant oatmeal
  • sauces and instant gravies
  • granola bars
  • “low fat” labeled foods
  • pasta and noodles

When you learn that sugar is the enemy, not fat, you’ll figure out the real ways of how to live a healthy, fit and strong life, and eventually you’ll get rid of cellulite.

3. Drink Lots of Water

Staying hydrated is also one of the best remedies for healthy looking skin.

It supports the healthy connective tissue, so rehydrating well is crucial when it comes to cellulite.

100 oz of water a day is essential, especially if you’re active.

Also, caffeinated drinks dehydrate the body, so if you do enjoy a cup of coffee or two in the morning as much as I do, be sure to increase your water intake to compensate.

Drinking water regularly also strengthens the collagen in the skin and improves circulation and increases skin elasticity and smoothness.

It’s a natural way to fight the formation of cellulite and improve your health and appearance overall.

A well-hydrated body will release fluids rather than work hard to hold onto them.

So, fit girls, DRINK UP!

4. Increase The Blood Flow From the Outside

Let’s get one thing straight – you’re increasing the circulation in your whole body when exercising.

But, when it comes to cellulite, there’s no harm in trying it in the opposite direction too, from the outside.

Although there’s no scientific evidence supporting the idea that body brushing or massage can help reduce cellulite forever, it’s still proven to increase the blood flow, and that’s good.

By massaging or scrubbing the area, you help the body remodel and re-stimulate collagen formation and breakdown, so you’re moving things around a little bit.Can We Get Rid Of Cellulite The ACTUAL TRUTH, And My Formula to Eliminate Cellulite - Anti cellulite scrub recipe

And the best way to do that is with a homemade coffee scrub:

  • 1 cup coffee ground leftovers (or fresh grounds)
  • 5 tbsp coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

Caffeine stimulates the dilation while the scrubbing increases the circulation, plumping up the skin and making cellulite look less obvious.

Plus, coffee grounds contain antioxidants, so they can increase collagen production.

Dry brushing is proven to help because it increases the blood flow.

Lymph is a fluid in our circulatory system and it contains white blood cells, so lymph also affects our immune system.
It picks up bacteria, toxins, and other waste from our blood and filters it through the lymph nodes, where the bacteria is destroyed.
Poor blood circulation means the lymph cannot properly do its job resulting in cellulite, varicose veins, and a weakened immune system, and dry brushing improves the lymph flow.”
– Ashlee, The Green Thickies

So, scrubs, peelings and skin brushes are definitely not the solution to cellulite, but they might help when done in addition to exercising and good diet.

5. Accept Yourself

The truth is that even if you do everything right, you might end up with dimples on your legs, just like me, but you know what?

THAT’S TOTALLY FINE!

We spend so much time obsessing with how we look, that we actually forget how we feel.

And how we should feel is strong, sexy and proud!

People assume if you have the perfect diet, training program, get eight or nine hours of sleep every night, and have zero stress (lucky you!), that you will automatically be able to achieve the body worthy of a “fitspiration” ad.
I am sorry to tell you that this is not everyone’s destiny and these unrealistic expectations are likely holding you back from being the best and healthiest version of yourself.”
– Summer Innanen, coach

We are all built to look different, and we’re not meant to look identical to one another.

We are supposed to be unique and what makes us beautiful are our flaws.

Accepting yourself, and being proud of what you did to get there, is the best thing you can do for your cellulite.

Just rock it out, and don’t hide behind your leggings…

…hiding behind your baggy leggings because you can’t get rid of cellulite, is the exact same thing as hiding behind your hair because you have a big nose.

In the end, you can’t change your genes, and you’re not supposed to change them either!

You’re unique because of them, and you’re alive because of them, so you shouldn’t try to change them just because some plastic magazine photo-shopped girls say so.

Being yourself is the prettiest person you can be, so girls, WEAR SHORTS!

Rock it out, and be proud of yourself!
