“How Planning Helped Me Get Fit – Fit Babe Printable Fitness Journal”

You want to accomplish a fitness or weight loss related goal?

I have one word for you girl – PLANNING.

Planners and all kinds of printable fitness journals are so popular these days and there is a damn good reason why – they help people all around the world accomplish their goals.

I know what you might say to yourself right now: “Come on! How can a piece of paper help me get fit?”

Well girl, making lifestyle changes doesn’t come naturally and it takes more than a goodwill to make it happen.

Imagine a scenario of a typical morning on the rush, and a typical busy day to come:

You’re running late again. Don’t have time to eat breakfast, plus the cereal box is empty, and the milk’s gone sour. Healthy lunch? There’s leftover peanut butter in the jar, and few slices of bread… I read somewhere peanut butter is healthy – will do. Exercise after work? You’ve got to be kidding me! I’m too tired, I’ll do it tomorrow.

And that’s how your resolutions to exercise more, eat healthier and lose weight falls apart. It’s so easy for them to get lost in the daily shuffle. The truth is, if you keep leaving exercise and healthy food to chance, they probably won’t happen, ever.

And that’s where planning comes in the game.

Imagine if you’ve planned your meals ahead and had everything packed in the fridge for the day. You’d squeeze in a 20 minutes exercise before work so you don’t have to skip it later on. A healthy lunch is already packed and ready to go.

In a perfect world, we could accomplish all of our fitness goals by the time our busy day starts. And with a little bit of planning, you could make it happen. Your days would go with a flow, and your weight loss and fitness goals will come crushing one by one.

In fact, that’s how I lost weight and got my dream body after struggling to get it for years – I started planning and tracking my days, weeks and months.

And today, I’m going to guide you to do the same thing.

We’ll stop calling it a dream – we’ll call it a plan.

Why Planners Work?
Printable Fitness Journal

There’s something special about a pencil and a piece of paper, that makes you stick to it.

Don’t get me wrong – I am not an “old-fashioned gal” and I use lots of “can’t live without” apps too. But there’s a certain magic and something fun and therapeutic about hitting that paper.

I mean, when I say it – it’s not that big, but when I write it down – things are about to get pretty serious.

And apart from all of these feels, there are facts why planners work so good and I’ll try to break it down. I’ll try to explain why planning is crucial and why you need to start a fitness journal asap if you want to get to your goals.

1. Helps You Remember Why You Started

Every now and then, we tend to lose sight of the reason why we started working out and eating healthy.

It seemed so important at the time, but when we wake up at 6:30 in the morning to exercise, there’s a chance that reason starts fading away.

And this usually happens after we’ve been in the game for a while. We begin to question everything: “Why did I sign up for this? I’m not seeing any results. Is this really necessary? I have so many things going in my life right now, do I really have time for exercising?”

Yes, that’s real life. We all get busy and we feel we need to free up some more time, so fitness and health are not a priority anymore.

And that’s where a fitness planner kicks in! Using a printable fitness journal will remind of your reason, answering all of your questions and kicking all of those excuses out of the way.

In my printable fitness journal, there are monthly sections where you fill out all of these important things so that you can go back and remind yourself why you started in the first place.

It allows you to focus on every goal in particular so that you do not get distracted and float between different objectives.

Keeping a planner will get you back to where you started, to focus on your goals and see how far you’ve come.

2. Breaks Down Every Goal In Milestones

Of course, every goal is huge. For example, losing weight or gain muscle mass and get your dream body – you can’t achieve any of these goals overnight (unfortunately).

Weight loss can be such a long process that requires a lot of work and dedication for months even years and that’s why you should set “micro goals”.

This way you’ll start achieving smaller milestones on a weekly and daily basis to ensure you stay motivated and get to your goal at the end of the month.

And with a fitness planner, you will be able to break down each and every single one of those bigger goals and set a timeframe through smaller milestones.

Plus, reaching these “short-term” weekly and daily milestones will keep you motivated as it will be easier to monitor the small, important changes happening on your body.

3. The Satisfaction Of Getting It “Checked”

There’s something about checking things off that makes you stick to the plan.

And you don’t even have to be a kind of person that loves to “check” something off a list, because it’s already all on our psychology.

The feels of achievement that you get when you mark that workout for the day as “checked” is just priceless.

You give yourself credit and just confirming you’ve done that, but it somehow creates the feeling to want to get back each day and do the same.

That’s why in my Fit Babe Fitness Planner you have daily trackers, weekly to-do’s and goals to check off your lists and achieve each and every single one of them.

4. Helps You Visualize Your Setbacks

We all have setbacks and low points or just thins we have a hard time with.

For example, I always seem to break my “I’ll eat healthy every day” rule on weekends. The weekdays I’m doing just fine and when Saturday comes I just snap out of my plan.

However, keeping track of these things helped me realize I do it every single weekend, so I started questioning why this happens and that led me to another problem – alcohol.

Turns out, whenever I went out and had a drink or two, I seemed to have a cheat meal afterward and skipped my workout the next day.

And I’m certain that without planning and keeping track I wouldn’t even be aware of this problem because I wouldn’t remember if I did this last weekend, and the one before that, and the one before that.

When you face the struggles and challenges in your journey, you’ll have the opportunity to go over what went wrong and view everything as a learning opportunity.

5. Helps You Track Your Results

Tracking the results is one of the most common reasons why girls all over the globe start planning in the first place.

And that’s good because tracking your results is really important because of a few things.

First, sometimes we think we eat healthy when we actually don’t and other times we go to the gym stuck on the cardio machine for hours and we still can’t get the scale moving.

That’s why tracking results is crucial in finding out if you’re on the right path or you need to change something. If there are no results, it means we’re doing something wrong and we need to try something new.

The second thing is motivation.

When you track your weight loss progress right, you’re getting a clear picture of how everything you’re doing is paying off.

At first, it may not be as visual, so weighing and measuring yourself will get you the progress on paper. And trust me there’s nothing more motivating than to see how far you’ve come and that your efforts are paying off.

By getting the whole picture of your progress, you’ll learn what works for you best, get some boost in your motivation that will keep you striving to achieve more and more.

And let’s not forget about progress photos aka before and after photos. They are by far my favorite method for tracking physical progress and changes. Since they are visual, they make tracking so much more inspiring.

Sure, collecting the data and seeing how the numbers change over time is amazing, but it’s nothing compared to the motivation you get from seeing the changes in the physical appearance.

This is mainly because we see ourselves daily and it’s pretty difficult to notice any changes from just looking at the mirror.

But that’s the best thing with progress photos – you’ll have snapshots from different points in your journey that’ll make it easy to see how your body changed and how much results you actually have.

That’s why at the end of the Fit Babe Printable Fitness Journal you’ll get a section to add yours before and after photo.
