Well, this is my favorite debate of all! I just hate that every girl I see, says to me that I shouldn’t go to the gym to lift weights, because I will get too muscly. Well, that is one very wrong opinion. So because of that, I decided to give you reasons, why girls should lift weights, and that’s how I’ll break the myth, with arguments. I hate that most of the girls talk about weight lifting like it’s a bad thing, and as weight lifting will do them harm, but believe me, if they explore a little bit, they would understand that weight lifting can do only good to your body. So, dear ladies, let’s get started!
More Effective Weight Loss
First of all, lifting weights is not only for girls who want muscly arms. It is great for girls that want to lose weight! By lifting weights, you can lose 40% more of your body fat. The huge advantage of weight training is your body’s ability to burn fat during and after exercise. So, it is not just the cardio workout that matters! Cardio is not the key to losing the body fat, it is the strength training that makes it happen!
Burning More Calories
Lifting weights increases the number of calories you burn while your butt is parked on the couch. That’s because after each strength workout, your muscles need energy to repair their fibers. In fact, researchers found that when people did a total-body workout with just three big-muscle moves, their metabolisms were raised for 39 hours afterward.
Just running, or just doing a cardio training will not get you curved body. You can lose weight, but skinny is not sexy, fit is! That’s because strenght training gives a nice shape to your body. As you build muscles, your body begins to take a nice hourglass shape. That means, you are getting not only skinnier, but sexier!
Weight lifting will increase the quality of your sleep. It gives you the ability to fall asleep faster, and to sleep deeper too. And as you already know, sleep is very important, when it comes to losing weight, being healthier, and being sexier, of course!
Getting Stronger Heart and Bones
There has been a lot of studies about lifting weights, and getting healthier heart. It has been proven that pumping iron can reduce your risk of heart disease and it is a healthy form of exercise for those at risk, for sure. Also, resistance training is an excellent way to combat loss of bone mass, and it decreases the risk of osteoporosis.
Exercise in general is a great way to manage stress. Researchers have consistently found that those who regularly strength train tend to manage stress better and experience fewer adverse reactions to stressful situations as those who do not exercise.
Weight Lifting Can Not Get Make You Too Muscly
At the end, even if you wanted so hard to look like a body builder you cannot look like that! So don’t worry, you won’t look bulky, you can only look sexy!
