Switching your diet and trying to eat healthier can be so overwhelming.
I’ve been there, and it is not a fun journey at all.
Especially if you are not prepared well.
The road to switching your eating habits is so rocky, that it makes my soul cry just by thinking of it.
However, there are some things that can help a lot.
These things will make eating healthier much more easy.
That’s why I’m sharing my 6 steps to start eating healthier today.
These steps will help you learn how to eat healthy with ease.

6 Steps To Start Eating Healthy TODAY!
#1 Prep your fridge
In order to start eating healthier you got to prepare first.
And the first step to preparing for eating healthy is loading your fridge with healthy foods.
However, not only healthy foods, but healthy foods you actually enjoy eating.
So create a shopping list with healthy foods and recipes you actually enjoy and go from there.
Keep in mind that you have to like the foods you are eating, otherwise you are just setting yourself to failure.
So, shop healthy to eat healthy.

#2 Practice volume eating
No matter what you eat, always make sure that half of your plate is filled with veggies and greens.
Here’s the reason why:
Out bodies don’t just have a calorie counter, in terms of how many calories your body needs to stay healthy or lose weight, but they also have a “volume counter”.
This means that to get full you have to fill certain volume in your stomach.
This explains why we can never get full if we eat a handful of almonds, even though it’s around 300 kcal.
And perfect volume foods are foods that are actually lower in calories, but bigger in volume, such as broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, salads, etc.
#3 Don’t eat less
People often link eating healthy with starving.
And that’s a big mistake.
Just because something has less calories, or is a smaller amount, doesn’t mean it’s healthier for you.
Looking back, I can see how I always chose foods that lacked nutrients just because they were low in calories.
And what I often forgot when I counted calories is that food isn’t made up of calories alone.
So, don’t eat less, just pick out healthier foods.

#4 Start your day healthy
When it comes to eating healthy, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
That’s because if you start your day right, you are more likely to keep it up healthy for the rest of it.
So, always make sure the first meal is a healthy one.

#5 Snack Healthy
Snacking is one of those habits everyone think is unhealthy and just needs to be ditched when switching to a healthier diet.
However, that’s just wrong, because snacking is a crucial part of starting with healthy food.
It helps you keep the excitement going, and makes eating healthy so much fun!
So, make sure to keep your snacking habits, just make it a healthy habit.
Snack as much as you want throughout the day, as long as you make sure the snacks are healthy.

#6 Be persistent!
Our brain gets used to what we do on a daily basis.
That’s basically how habits work.
So, when we switch to a healthier diet, our brain get in survival mode, since it’s used to us eating other things to survive.
And it takes time for the brain to get used to the new eating diet.
That’s part of why eating healthier is so hard to maintain.
And that’s why consistency is key when it comes to switching to a healthier diet.
So keep it up, and don’t quit – it get’s so much easier over time.
