‘7 Habits Of Fit Women – This Is How They Stay Fit’ – Monica May

Are you struggling to stay fit?

Well, if you follow these 7 habits you will get there!

I’ve been in fitness for over 10 years now, and I can tell you for sure that although there are some things that can vary from one person to another, there are definitely ones that work for everyone.

And that’s exactly what we’re talking about today.

These are the 7 habits all fit women follow.

This is how they manage to get and stay fit long term – just follow them and can will do it too.

7 Habits Of Fit Women – This Is How They Stay Fit

#1: They Are Not On A Diet

They just eat healthy.

I’ve talked about this so many times, a diet is something we do for a short term gain and usually most diets are not a sustainable solution.

A healthy eating lifestyle, on the other hand, is something you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life.

And I’ve been there for so many years, jumping from one diet to another, and losing some weight but usually gaining it back in a few weeks after finishing it.

From keto to low-calorie diets – I’ve done them all and I can safely say that another diet is not the solution!

Instead, do what a fit woman would do – start eating healthy and balanced.

#2: They Don’t Spend Hours At The Gym

They don’t need to.

30-40 minutes a day of high-intensity workout is more than enough to get fit.

Fit girls know they don’t have to spend hours at the gym to make the most out of their training, so they spend a shorter amount of time giving a huge amount of effort.

Meaning – high-intensity interval workouts, with heavyweights.

Why spend hours at the gym without even breaking a sweat, when you can spend only 30 minutes where you give all-out, 100% effort, through quick, explosive, and intense bursts of exercise, followed by extra short and active recovery periods.

Plus, as you already know from my All About HIIT article, by doing this type of activity you get the after-burn effect.

This means that you’ll burn calories even after finishing the workout.

During the post-exercise recovery period, the body will tap into fat stores for the energy required to restore it to its normal resting state which makes you burning calories while you recover.

#3: But They Work Out 5 Times A Week

I’ve read a quote somewhere and it said:

‘You are what you do on a daily basis.’

And that can’t be more true!!

You get what you work for, and it really takes more than 3 times a week to make working out and fitness a daily habit.

Most fit women are working out 5 times a week, resting for two days, separately.

This means usually 3 days of workout with one day of rest, then another 2 days with one day rest.

#4: They Have The Mindset

I talked about How Changing My Mindset Helped Me Get Fit in a previous article, and honestly, that’s probably the most important thing you have to do if you’re planning to get fit for life.

Most fit women may start their journey as any of us would have – with a short term goal – to lose weight for an upcoming holiday, to fit in an old pair of jeans, etc.

And there’s nothing wrong with short term goals like this, in fact, they are an amazing steping stone to get into fitness in the first place.

However, somewhere along the way, it should get deeper and stronger than that, and you actually start doing it for you.

Not to look good, not to hit a number on a scale, and definitely not to fit into some beauty standards.

You start doing it because it feels good, because you want to push yourself to see what happens out of your comfort zone and because it’s a part of who you are.

Here’s how to make some small changes towards changing your mindset and getting fit for life > How Changing My Mindset Helped Me Get Fit .

#5: They Get Active During The Day

From jogging to cycling or walking, instead of taking the car, fit women get every chance of getting active during the day.

I tried to include this habit in my morning routine, with my WBR technique – meaning Walk Bike Or Run.

And since the bad weather was my main excuse for keeping this habit going, I got myself Loom Waterproof Sneakers.

They are 100% waterproof and breathable, have a knit layer which makes them breathable and super comfy.
They are also made from high-quality merino wool and a merino wool cushion which allows you to lead an active lifestyle without foot pain or discomfort.

So, whether I’m hiking, walking my dog, or jogging in the neighborhood, I feel comfy, warm, and completely dry.

No more excuses right?!

Check them out here.

#6: They Cook Their Foods

Oh yes, they do!

How else do you think they are making sure to eat healthy all the time?

And the amazing thing is that they don’t even spend much of their time cooking.

In fact, there are so many amazing recipes and healthy ideas that can be done in just a few minutes.

Cooking your foods is one of the most important things when getting fit and healthy long term, since it’s the only time you have full control of what you put inside your body – which is not the case when eating out.

There are so many quick fixes you can go for whenever you don’t have the time to cook.

Also, not having time to cook is one of the most common reasons of not eating healthy.
That’s why fit girls usually meal prep, and plan about what they’re going to eat.

#7: They Snack Between Their Meals

In fact, fit women always keep a healthy snack on hand.

And that’s so smart, just think about it:

You’re getting off work late or something came out and you can’t make it on time to eat your lunch.
What do you do?! You reach for a snack, right?

When you feel hungry and don’t have a healthy meal on hand, it’s the time you’re most likely to reach out for unhealthy foods.

So, instead of reaching out for a bag of chips or a chocolate bar, make sure to keep a healthy snack around, such as almonds or cashews, a piece of fruit, and maybe peanut butter to dip them into.
